“I created a new years resolution to hike once per week in 2014 when I was going through a major transition in my life (divorce). With each hike I got stronger and realized I was capable of so much more than I ever gave myself credit for. The mountains helped me gain back confidence in all aspects of my life, and I was able to heal. The journey was life-changing and so after my challenge was complete I wanted to share that story with people to help them too.”
“I know that getting outdoors touches on the 4 pillars of health: Mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. If we all work on being healthier individuals we can go on to be the change we  wish to see in the world!”
“I believe that a huge part of overcoming challenges around wellness is to make it fun again! Do the things you love and enjoy. Take baby steps, no need to overwhelm yourself. Be intentional and calendar out “self-care” time. Also, surround yourself with others who want the same in their lives. Join a community or meetup group. It’s really important to have a strong support system of people who help keep you motivated and inspired. “
“You can’t truly succeed if you don’t take care of yourself first. You’ll burn out, be miserable and sabotage yourself. Make self-care a priority, do one thing everyday that makes you feel good: take a bubble batch, go for a hike, meditate, read… Your mind, body and soul will thank you for it. Plus you’ll attract what you are, if you are healthy happy – you will see the same from your relationships and life in general. “
